Territory
There are places where nature is not just landscape, but vocation.
Reggello is one of these.
Here, climate, altitude, and soil composition create unique conditions, ideal for quality olive growing . Temperature variations, natural ventilation, and well-drained soils guide the trees through a slow and balanced maturation process, favoring aromatic concentration, structure, and character. This is a land that has interacted with the olive tree for centuries, transforming each harvest into an authentic expression of tradition, identity, and shared agricultural knowledge.
Quality of the land
Reggello lies among the foothills of the Tuscan Apennines, in an area between 500 and 700 meters above sea level , where olive trees have found ideal conditions for their best growth for centuries. Here, the climate is balanced, with wide temperature variations between day and night, constant ventilation, and winters that are cold enough to naturally protect the trees. This environment favors slow ripening , concentrating aromas, polyphenols, and complexity.
The soil, mostly stony and well-drained, forces the roots to descend deeply. It's hard work that becomes valuable: the olive tree absorbs minerals, builds structure, and develops character. The result is a healthy, rich fruit, capable of producing intense yet harmonious , elegant, and long-lived oils.
But the Reggello area is more than just nature. It's an agricultural tradition passed down through generations, made up of repeated gestures, deep-rooted knowledge, and respect for the rhythms of the land. Here, olive growing has never been industrial: it's always been about care, observation, and responsibility. Each olive grove tells a family story, each harvest a thoughtful choice.
Frantoio Masaccio's identity is born from this balance between environment and culture. An identity that doesn't force the land, but listens to it. That doesn't pursue quantity, but quality. That recognizes the territory not as a simple place of origin, but as a living matrix , capable of giving the oil an unmistakable imprint.
Because our extra virgin olive oil couldn't be made anywhere else.
He is the son of these hills, of this altitude, of this knowledge.
It is the result of a territory that never stops speaking, to those who know how to listen.
